The Greene County bowlers were back in action after a month of no competition due to winter break and winter weather.
On Jan. 22, the team traveled to Ida Grove to face OABCIG with the boys picking up a 75 point loss, the girls falling by a wider margin. The junior varsity boys struck a win over the Falcons with a final score of 2269 – 2077.
Top bowlers for each team were Allison Fields (144, 130) for the girls, Nick Stream (162,171) for JV boys and Carter Fecher (255, 170) for varsity boys.
The teams hosted Emmetsburg on Thursday for Senior Night. The girls saw their first win (by forfeit) with varsity boys (2686 – 2314) and junior varsity boys (2021 – 1753) taking wins as well. Top bowlers for each team were Ava Schilling (157,180) for the girls, Rylan Larsen (158, 141) for the JV boys and Edrik Heisterkamp (226, 180) for the boys.
Seniors include Graci Cooklin, Sophie Johansen and Ava Schilling for the girls, and Jordan Cerwick and Rylan Larsen on the boys team.
The team was back in action on Friday at home against Ankeny, picking up another set of varsity wins, the JV boys taking a loss. The girls won by 49 points with the boys seeing a varsity win by 81 points. The JV team fell by 181.
Graci Cooklin led the girls with 144, 139. Rylan Larsen paced the JV boys with 139, 160, and Chase Fecher led the varsity boys with 246, 226.
